‘Drawn’ at the Royal West of England Academy (RWA)

Recently I entered Drawn, at the RWA, a biennial open submission which aims to promote the profile of drawing through many mediums. This is the second time that I have successfully had a drawing selected and is especially rewarding because the wonderful gallery is in my home town of Bristol. The title of my piece is The Bristol 2 Litre Engine (2014).

The exhibition contains many wonderful drawings to view: some are obsessively drawn and easily recognised as drawing, others draw with words or use scribbled lines to make images on used rail travel cards. At the back of the gallery are architectural drawings which appear to have been  made for BBC’s current series ‘Banished’. It would have been good to see some sculpture or site specific installations but there is still plenty to enjoy and will require more than one visit to fully enjoy.

Drawn 2015 runs until 7th June.
