Penny Wheeler is an accomplished technician whose work embraces the complexities of the craft. Extending the possibilities of the grid which defines weave – Penny subverts the conventions of the discipline by extending the possibilities of the loom. Fascinated by the construction of weave and its potential, Penny’s work explores the irregular in the regular and communicates the essential relationship between fibres, yarns and the frame.
