and something completely different…
Four years ago, I met Odette Insoll while I was running a pattern cutting course at Bath College . It was here that she shared her passion for horse riding and a vision for producing the ultimate waterproof riding skirt.
Four years on and her company, Nouvelle Habit, has successfully launched the bespoke all-weather riding skirt, the Moorland, and I feel privileged to have played a part in its development.
Odette had a very clear idea of the look and function of this skirt, and from her initial detailed sketches I drafted the first pattern. Tweakings, adjustments, followed as the prototypes were test ridden, to fine tune the design and details. She has certainly tested my pattern cutting skills.
And I have to say that the final product is fantastic. Designed by a rider for riders, she has thought of everything. The passion and quality are reflected in the reviews.
Our relationship continues and I have loved being part of the journey, learning about many aspects of horse riding and very excited about the future growth of the company and a new product being developed – still under wraps – but watch this space…
