In the spirit of sharing our love of textiles, seam collective have created the social media challenge #SeptTextileLove to engage with textile enthusiasts throughout the month of September.
Inspired by Joanne Hawker’s #MarchMeettheMaker challenge, which many of us from seam participated in, our aim is to use this model to highlight and promote textiles. This challenge is also a way for our members to gain a better understanding of how social media can build communities and share common interests.
There will be daily prompts encouraging you to share a different aspect of your love of textiles. You can respond to as many of the prompts as you wish, this could be only a few or it may be all of them. The only requirement is that you include the hashtag #SeptTextileLove so we can find, like, comment on and share your posts!
The challenge will predominantly be on Instagram, although we’ll also be participating on Twitter too.
Anyone can get involved, from enthusiasts through to professionals. If you love textiles, then we’d love you to participate.
The #SeptTextileLove challenge will run from Friday 1 September though to Saturday 30 September.
The 30 challenge prompts will be released on the seam blog on Thursday 31 August. If you’d like to receive a PDF download of the prompts one week before everyone else, sign up here to receive the seam newsletter. The seam newsletter is sent quarterly and includes details of where you can see members’ work, upcoming exhibitions and opportunities to be involved.
We look forward to seeing your love of textiles in September!
