I am a designer, specialising in digital (CAD) embroidery, machine embroidery, embellishment, fabric manipulation, beading and hand embroidery. I previously designed for high street retailers, suppliers and catwalk designers, designing for women’s fashion, embroidery, print, kidswear and lingerie design.
I’m currently working in the studio, designing and creating a new collection of conceptual swatches and garments for AW 17/18. Inspiration stems from numerous sources but in particular, cross stitch and tapestry stitch embroidery, vintage lace and textiles.
Through a developing technique of sketching and collaging studies of florals, textures and geometric patterns, I develop and work these into designs by hand and then transfer them to embroidery software and work back into them to create stitch files. I like to mix digital embroidery with texture and hand and machine techniques onto premium fabrics through layers of intricate stitch and colour.
