Hopefully you will come along to our exhibition this week and see how eight talented makers’ highly colourful, and highly diverse work has become a cohesive exhibition. I may be biased, but our work and 44AD fit hand-in-glove; and it is all down to our guest curator Fiona Cassidy. Fiona came to our planning meeting two weeks before the exhibition, and spent a long day with us on Monday, helping us set up. An independent opinion and a curator with the confidence to make quick decisions was invaluable, and enabled us to show our work at its best.
Thanks also go to Katie O’Brien at 44AD artspace – she is such an encouraging, helpful, and supportive presence. 44AD is a quirky, industrial space that has a great feeling, and Katie has worked hard at gaining a following.
Our final thank you goes to the builders next door, Galliford Try, working on the Gainsborough Hotel project, who helped with a little heavy lifting and found us some pallets to use as an impromptu plinth.
