Artist Statement for Warped and Wasted
‘My contribution to Warped and Wasted draws on years of collecting discarded, second-hand, and natural materials – motheaten blankets, hessian, scrap clothes, and natural fibres from small-scale producers. This project transforms my long-held stash into tactile, sculptural works that invite reflection and interaction. The stash itself becomes a central theme: a symbol of personal resourcefulness but also of excess, consumption, and the impulse to hoard in the name of creativity. These hidden accumulations, often passed on or abandoned, echo wider issues of waste, legacy, and the material remnants we all leave behind.’
