Artist Statement for Warped and Wasted

‘Earth is a complex and living entity. Earthskin is represented here by layers of stitched organisms on wool felt. Healthy soil is an essential part of the planet’s ecosystem for growing plants and animals. All materials have been harvested from the planet so let’s hold them in circulation for as long as possible. These colourful jackets have transformed salvaged festival camping equipment and used tote bags that were discarded and no longer wanted. Let’s take and make opportunities to repurpose and reimagine these materials again and again, keeping them in circulation and saving them from landfill where ultimately, they will impact on the earthskin.’
