#SeptTextileLove 2025

We are so excited to be preparing for this year’s fabulous romp through the beautiful world of textiles!

Once again, we will have a different textile prompt for each day of September for you to interpret in your own creative style. The prompts are all released in a blog post on 31 August or you can get all 30 a week in advance if you sign up to our free mailing list here.

We’ll be keeping an eye out 😍

This year’s prompts are based on our research into working sustainably, both individually and collectively, as part of our Arts Council funded project Warped and Wasted – we can’t wait to see how you interpret them!

#SeptTextileLove is anticipated every year…

Back in July on Instagram we asked:

‘Are you hoping to join this year’s challenge? We’d love to have you on board. And let us know in the comments what you enjoyed about our 2024 challenge…or any of them in fact!’

Here is what some of you said:

Woohoo! My favourite challenge of the year! Always encourages reflection and stretches me 😍
@sue_spence_textile_artist

Can’t wait! I love how it makes me think about my work in different ways, and finding new meanings and definitions and then new ideas from my work!
@amberhards

Yes, I’m hoping to join in this year’s challenge. This means probably not contributing work every day, but definitely contributing likes and supportive comments. I enjoyed being stretched last year and finding the wealth of creativity and talent by people who joined in. Looking forward!

I am so looking forward to this, I’ve been unable to for a couple of years. It restores my mojo and is so inspiring across the piste and world!!

How does #SeptTextileLove work?

During the month, you can respond to as many or as few prompts as you like, there are no right or wrong ways to interpret the prompt, if it places a love of textiles at the heart of your post. When you post your interpretation of a prompt on Instagram please use the hashtags listed below, allowing an international community of textile enthusiasts to see your posts, comment on them, and the textile community as a whole to flourish and connections continue to grow.

Each day, a member of seam collective will select three images or reels from the day’s prompts to share on the seam Instagram feed with over 16,000 followers. As a bonus, it is a fun way to create content for your own Instagram feed and take a deeper look at your textile practice or hobby.

Hashtags

We at seam don’t want to miss anybody’s #SeptTextileLove posts but Instagram’s algorithm makes it harder to find all the posts for a given day/prompt so please can you use these exact hashtags:

  • daily hashtags: #STL25Day1, #STL25Day2 etc – corresponding to the day’s prompts and where STL is short for Sept Textile Love,
  • our usual hashtags: #SeptTextileLove and #SeptTextileLove25.

Also please don’t forget to tag @seam_collective!

So, remember, have fun, make new friends and find inspiration from the wonderful textile conversations that will happen throughout September.
