We are absolutely thrilled to share that seam collective has been awarded funding from Arts Council England for our next ambitious project, Warped and Wasted! Our grant is from the National Lottery Project Grants programme and is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. This incredible support, along with our Crowdfunder success, means that all of the proposed events and activities for our Warped and Wasted project will go ahead and it will enable us to take the next big steps in our creative journey. We’ll be able to work with amazing mentors, begin making brand new artwork and collaborate on our upcoming exhibition, Warped and Wasted, at ACEarts in August 2025
So get your diary out and pop these dates in!
The exhibition

Warped and Wasted will open at 10am on Saturday 23 August at ACEarts. This ambitious exhibition will showcase the work of 14 seam members who will work together to create an experimental, large scale, collaborative art installation, made with 100% waste, existing second-hand or biodegradable materials.

Our mentors

We’re delighted to now be able to work with two external mentors who will support us with our learning about sustainability and collaboration – Judith van Den Bloom, who runs the MA in Regenerative Design at Central St. Martins, and Helen Carnac, an artist and curator who has experience in facilitating collaboration in fine art projects. We’ll be sharing details of our discussions and decisions and what we get up to in four in-person collaboration meetings over the next month…. and, of course, we’ll now be busily researching and making new experimental work, transforming second-hand and biodegradable materials with textile processes.
Thank you!

This milestone is a huge leap forward for us – and it wouldn’t have been possible without your continued belief and support. Thank you if you donated to our Crowdfunder and for being part of this journey! We can’t wait to bring you behind-the-scenes as we develop the exhibition and share more exciting updates along the way.
See you soon…
We’ll be back over the next month with more blog posts, further details about what we get up to in our collaboration meetings, what you’ll see in the exhibition, who you’ll hear from at the symposium, and how to book and more, so do keep an eye on our website! In the meantime, take a look at our Instagram feed to see what we’ve been up to.
Stay tuned—this is just the beginning!
With gratitude,
seam collective
