Alternate View explores small scale artworks created in the perceived confines of a defined space. The exhibition uses the metaphor of the acrylic box confines to represent ’Windows’ – looking ahead/out/forward, projecting optimism, looking forward, hope – embracing the inevitability and excitement of life. Every member of untethered fibre artists (currently 17 members) has made one cube or two works- with an estimated number of 26 artworks in total.

Oliver Bliss’s series of portrait tapestries explore notions of masculinity, focused on male tattoo, and facial and body art from Instagram as a starting point. The pieces explore how and why we generate images of ourselves and promote ourselves on social media, aiming to celebrate and question how online sub-cultures have developed through hashtags to create global communities.
